What does Myrr Port do? +
Myrr Port adds an agent-friendly layer to your web app. When an AI agent visits your site, it receives clean structured markdown instead of HTML soup. Port also counts every token the agent consumes and reports it back via an X-Token-Count header.
Do I need to change my tech stack? +
No. Myrr Port is a drop-in middleware that sits alongside your existing server. Your HTML pages stay exactly as they are for human visitors. Port handles agent requests on the same URLs — humans see HTML, agents see markdown. Works with Rails, Python, Node.js, Go, or any Rack-compatible framework.
How much does it cost? +
Myrr Port is open source and free under the MIT license. Self-host on any server. We are also offering a manual onboarding service — we will install Port, create your agent-friendly pages, and serve your first 100,000 tokens for free (~70K words, ~100 pages) in exchange for a testimonial and case study.
What is a "token" and how do you count them? +
Tokens are the atomic units AI models use to read text. Myrr Port uses the same tokenizer as GPT-4 (cl100k_base encoding) to count tokens in every markdown response. On average, 100,000 tokens equals about 70,000 words. A typical web page is 300–500 tokens when served as clean markdown.
What if I need more than 100,000 tokens of content? +
We will train your team to create the remaining agent-friendly pages themselves — free. It takes about two hours and they will be able to maintain everything going forward. A self-serve product is also coming.
Does this work with existing AI crawlers hitting my site? +
Your existing site stays untouched. Myrr Port runs alongside it. Once your agent-friendly views are in place, agents requesting markdown will get clean content. Your human visitors continue to see the normal HTML site. No downtime, no migration, no surprises.
